Welcome to Badgers
We are an experienced and dedicated team, committed to supporting every child through their final year of primary school. Year 6 is a time of growth, preparation and celebration – our aim is to help pupils leave us feeling confident, capable and ready for the exciting challenges of secondary school.
The National Curriculum objectives for Year 6 are taught through a wide range of engaging schemes and approaches. Our topics include delving into the events of World War II in history, explore why our oceans are so important in geography and an exiting photography project in art, alongside many other interesting subjects. Paired with our academic learning, we offer a rich variety of opportunities and experiences — including a residential trip aboard a lightship, leadership roles and our end-of-year musical production — all designed to support children’s personal development and sense of achievement.
Throughout the year, we follow the principles of the Fish Philosophy, encouraging children to choose their attitude, make someone’s day, play and be present. These values help us to build a positive, inclusive and respectful learning environment where everyone can thrive. We also adopt a growth mindset, with posters around our room to remind us that mistakes are proof that we are trying and that we just need to believe in ourselves and keep going.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us via the school office email or speak to us in person at the end of the day.
We’re looking forward to a memorable year together.
