Welcome to Squirrels.

In Squirrels class, we have a play based Early Years curriculum which is child initiated. We have a free-flow indoor and outdoor classroom with extensive resources and space. Squirrels class is a happy, engaging, creative and enriching environment, where the children begin their journey to become lifelong learners. A curiosity approach is embedded in the classroom, which emphasizes child led learning by fostering their natural curiosity and desire to explore the world around them.

A typical day in Squirrels class involves a Drawing Club literacy lesson, a practical Maths lesson and a Little Wandle Phonics lesson. Three days a week the children will have a Little Wandle guided reading session and they will take their reading book home to practice. Squirrels take home Phonics homework weekly.

Squirrels are lucky enough to spend one afternoon per week in the on-site forest all year round, enjoying bug hunting, den building and simple wood carving.

The Squirrels team are experienced practitioners, who incorporate child-led and adult directed activities throughout the day.
